Thanks for the question Agnewpickens, we add additional value to the project and it will be being implemented alongside delivery services throughout Venezuela.

It is the first taxi service application in Venezuela to accept Dash as a payment method, currently it started in Merida-Venezuela but it will be expanded in all cities where we activate delivery services with Dash.

That is nice, but is not part of the original funding request, it should have been submitted with a new proposal, mission creep, still expecting the DAO to fund you for another year at this rate?

So, talking to Yoanna, I see that this is not actually a merchant adoption service, but is run thru a middleman service, Piiddoo (sp?).

Do you have profit/loss statements we can look at? You are a commercial endeavor.

Voting yes. This project is raising practical use case awareness of Dash both for merchants and also consumers. This is what is required to get Dash established in Venezuela because it helps overcome the "chicken and egg" problem since both parties in the exchange are incentivized to pay with Dash at the same time.

I had a long call with the team this week (over 2.5 hours) they gave me quite some details on the delivery project. They informed me that Dash is exclusive crypto payment on this platform. The merchants like receiving Dash for several reasons but one is that they want to gain exposure to cryptocurrency which is obviously more stable than bolivars. They can also get payments from oversees such as Colombia.

Delivery is also important now in Venezuela due to the problem with coronavirus and people wanting delivery services to their homes. Therefore this project is also benefiting from the coronavirus situation. In addition delivery services are important in a place like Venezuela because people have problems with getting around by car and the costs associated with running a car. Delivery services are therefore of more value in a place like Venezuela compared to other countries. The team informed me that people are learning how to use Dash as part of this program because there are 20% discounts available when paying with Dash in this app.

I asked Yoana and her team to see if they can negotiate better rates bearing in mind merchants want to receive Dash. Yoana said she will look into this and see if they can achieve this.

Remember I cannot validate all the team have achieved for myself because I have not visited Venezuela. However I can relay on the information I have gained from the many calls I have had with the team. They are also pro-actively sending me their business plan frequently to review and update which I find encouraging and it is clear they are passionate about getting Dash established in the country.

What came across with all the calls I have with Yoana and Hilary is that they feel passion and a sense of satisfaction knowing that they are helping others solve the problem of hyperinflation in Venezuela.

I have encouraged the team to consider how they can collect more validating evidence of what they are achieving and to post this information more frequently on twitter and their social media. This not only helps them win their projects but also MNOs like to see what difference we are making in the country. Hopefully Yoana will take on this suggestion going forward.

@yoanacastillo thank you Yoana. I will continue to work to support your project through our calls and discussing strategies. I have got many ideas I would like for us to try to promote this service outside of Venezuela. e.g. I would like to see if we can promote this service more widely to the 5 million Venezuelans that have fled the country. They need, and want, a simple means to send goods to their family in the country and this delivery service can certainly enable them to do that. Currently sending money to Venezuela is troublesome and difficult to do and if they can get money through they pay high fees. This project can completely bypasses the problems associated with sending money because they will be sending goods instead that don't have the tough regulations. This project has just started and I want the MNO network to know that I will do what I can to help support the team to make this project work.

How many more cycles of funding do you expect to need before you start generating enough revenue not to require a DAO subsidy?

We project that from this date in a year it will be enough time to incorporate the largest number of the most important deliveries in Venezuela, in addition, to incorporate national and international users who can make their purchases of basic necessities, medicines, food, car parts. and motorcycles, clothes, fast food and everything that their relatives need.

This seems very light on details.

Interesting to see 6 yes votes already, when the proposal text is still missing. Both here on Dash Central and on Dash Nexus. There are only 11 days left of voting, so if i was the proposal owner, i would fix this ASAP.
